Heidi Nitze

Heidi Nitze works from life for most of her paintings–
portraits, landscapes, botanical studies and still lifes–but she also does abstractions and capriccios from ideas out of her memory or imagination.

She works in oil, watercolor, colored pencil, silver point, graphite, ink, etching and mixed media. Her favorite places for landscape painting are France, England and the American West.

Her first one-woman show
was at the Blue Mountain
Gallery, and she has exhibited in numerous group shows
in New York, Massachussetts and Maine.

She is an honors graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she was also a teaching fellow. Heidi received a BA in Art History from Wellesley College and twice was a summer student at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture
in Maine.

She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists.
